The history of Caribbean essay

Through a span of time the organizational structure changed to a point when the Africans were allowed to buy status that is; they were paying a certain fee in order to be feed from the sugar plantations and the more hard work they were involved in. This exercise allowed the slaves to be extremely different from the common slaves by custom and culture. A larger part of these group of people were women an opted to live mostly in urban areas. The serious problem this group of ex-slaves would face was stiff competition for resources and opportunities from both sides of the divide, that is from the lower grade they would find slaves who need to buy freedom and at the upper grade face competition from the whites in the lower status in the society who were mainly involved in activities requiring less skills. Though the non whites had paid for freedom they were still disadvantaged as they were not allowed to perform all the tasks available in the Caribbean because the whites had introduced a special type of dressing distinguishing the whites from non whites. As time passed just before the banning of slavery, the non whites had become fully exposed to various activities in achieving the economic development goals of a nation, hence was very crucial in the transition process incase the Britons would want to leave power to the natives

END OF SLAVERY

There was a drastic change in the economic stability of the Caribbean island immediately when slave trade that put to an end in the early 1800s, this process was also done in a systematic way in which the slaves were allowed to remain in the sugar plantations for a certain period of time before they were released. Even though they spent some time in the plantation there was still a problem because of the fact that there was no more labor addition to cope with the already increased sugar fields. During this transition process the Caribbean experienced stiff competition from other sugar producing nations, and due to the fall in the price of sugar coinciding with the demand by the former slaves larger amounts of money due to the enactment of the labor laws banning the acts of slavery.
