The second group of colonists came in the first group of colonists were captured during the five year war and hence then Caribbean was being referred as the captured islands. This system of colony had a smaller assembly and a bigger local authority as compared to the previous one. Since they had no system of ruling their assemblies just worked as those for the first colonists. However the governors here were vested with authoritative powers given the fact that they remember the kind of resistance they had encountered while conquering the territory. The government officials in all the departments were appointed by the British government rather than being elected and this seriously affected the spirit of democracy in the then expansive colony. A few years later there was the shift from the local authorities to the formation of municipal councils in the big towns, contrary to the previous days when the local authorities use to even serve major towns. As time unfolded the Europeans that is ;the colonist saw that their representation in parliament was going to fall down hawing to the change in constitution which would in turn allow the freed slaves to vote and equally their teenagers who were mature enough to vote, so the colonists had to use their power to reduce the government.

The third group of colonists came in due to spontaneous demonstrations by the peasant farmers in the southern part of Caribbean. This kind of fight was mainly between the whites and the black because the blacks were complaining of unwarranted arrests. While they were demonstrating some of the demonstrators were killed and this prompted the demonstrators to fight back in full swing thus killing some of the European local authority holders, which greatly weakened the power of the colony since most of their representat6ives did not make to come back to office when the election was done therefore making the colony to experience a lot of resistance mainly from the locals and this brought a take over. This is how exactly the last colonists came in.
