The HR department has the duty to reduce the labor costs in an organization. It is estimated that the costs amount to about 85% of the in many organizations and the HR should strive to minimize these costs by reducing the staff at the same time ensuring that the same amount of work is done with few workers. This can also be accomplished by raising the efficiency and reducing the costs incurred due to employment behavior like non-attendance of workers.

The HR department performance can have a positive impact on the output of the employees and the by elevating their knowledge, capabilities and skills which consequently increases their morale at the same increasing the rates of retaining of the competent workers. Although the process of managing the HR is costly, time consuming and cumbersome, it is a worth exercise undertaking and these challenges should not be used as an excuse for not measuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the HR department’s performance.

The job analysis has been described as a comprehensive explanation of the physical and other requirements of a job with regard to the direct inspection of the job. The job analysis details what the worker is expected to do concerning the functions and duties as well as the requirements of the employees (skills, qualifications, capabilities and knowledge) required for realizing the undertakings involved. Job analysis can also be described as a procedure for identifying and determining the requirements and functions of a job and the specific importance of these duties in relation to the job. The job analysis describes the job in question and not the person intended for that job.

The job analysis is also a coherent procedure of determining the purpose of the job, its functions, the job settings and the qualifications needed for the job. The data for use in analyzing a job may be collected from employees, the injured workers and also from other people like the employer-at-injury by use of questionnaires and interviews. The underlying principle in the questionnaire is the depiction and the terms of the job. The information collected about the job analysis should focus on duties and tasks of the job, the background, tools and equipment, interactions and requirements.
