A complex of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), which kept the range of five hundred thousand tonnes at Bandar Khomeini was started in the year, 1995, for exportation purposes in terms of petrochemical industry. South Korea was selected for exportation purposes of petrochemical productions (Ule and Alexander, 2004). A South Korean company named as Daewoo signed a contract of nearly sixty five million dollars per year for the petrochemical products. There was also a chance of doubling of the amount with the passage of time and because of the agreement of the two parties (Petrochemical Industry and Market of Iran, 2005).

Established in 1970, Saz is ranked among the Top-Five privately owned independent engineering consultants companies in Iran. Saz operates in two modes: either as a direct contractor to the Petroleum Ministry for the design, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of industrial plants, or as a local partner to high-tech upstream international companies who execute oil, gas and petrochemical projects in Iran. Saz has procurement offices in the Netherlands and Canada. 

Project purpose and objectives:

Considering the nature of its operations, Saz relies heavily on a sophisticated IT system that links the head quarters, project offices and on-site users to each other. The IT system also allows access to advanced design and engineering software for authorized users. Finally, the IT system serves an administrative function by managing the company's website and email system. The project purpose is to manage the lead time from ordering to the supplying of IT resources, optimize the sourcing methods and costs of IT resources in the face of technological sanctions and to regularly trace/upgrade the IT resources.
