The slaves were then taken to the port and boarded a ship to the West Indies. Inside the ship the slaves were congested without caring about their health concerns because of the idea of bsuffocatio0n and by so doing the number of slaves who reached their pre-destined place became very minimal to death. Those who could as well survive in the harsh conditions were taken to the streets for sale in a form of trade popularly known as barter trade in exchange for guns, food and other valuable materials which were taken back to the local government in Africa for further exchange or given out to get more slaves. Also ships from Europe sailed to the Caribbean with lots of goods such as arms, ornaments and liquor. They were going to exchange these items with sugar since the Caribbean was rich source of sugar.

As appoint of concern it was shocking to know that the slaves would live a life shorter than eight years after their importation and this was due to the fact that they were exposed to conditions which were surely not fit for every human being to be in plus the fact that they were tirelessly overworked .Another part of then story is that some would even survive beyond one year after their arrival in the Caribbean .There after the slaves were allowed to adapt system by introducing them into the norms and values of the land. This was among the most trying moments for them, because they were being forced to do things of which might be totally unacceptable or what the culture in their native country was regarded it as a taboo.
